It's Raining Cats & Dogs!

A few weeks ago, Gage came over for a visit. We took a little trip over to see Pappy & Mamaw Janice's NEW fence! He was awfully excited on the way over!

And excited when we got there...

...especially when he got the baseball.

He carried it, and by it I mean 2, everywhere he went...

...until it was destruction time (hence the 2)!

The next day we hung around the house to pass the morning.

Gage was just wanting to love on Chance and he was having NO part of it!

Gage is a such gorgeous dog!

Then, Pappy came over and we all worked on the yard.

Landry more so than Gage...

Last week he came to visit again! Somehow I got them all to sit still for 2.2 seconds while I snapped their picture.

Chance was feeling loving...like always.

Now, before you go thinking that I take all kinds of pictures with my animals, I just have to say the only reason I posted these is because Landry and I have the exact same expression in them all!

Sweet little big HUGE Gage.

My baby...with a new bath and haircut!

Jere not wanting his picture taken...

My little love muffin not wanting Mommy to put him in his house when she left.

This Time It Is Fair!

Last night me and a friend attend the Anderson County Fair. This is only the second time I have ever been to a fair. The first being when I was in high school. I was outta the fair loop I guess. Anywhoo...as we all know I love animals so while we were there I just had to go see the chickens and roosters! Check out these hairstyles. I bet they spend hours on them everyday ;)

I'm also a new parent to 4 little baby birds! Check out the nest below that the mama bird built in one of my hanging flower planters on my porch! This picture was taken at the beginning of the month and I checked it yesterday and there were 4 little baby birds chirping at me! I will be sure and get a picture of them tonight. I guess I can pretty much give up on those flowers makin' it :( But it was totally worth it.

And just a little check in on my babies...

Take 5!

I like using the dogs as 'models' for my Pet Beds. Since this bed was so BIG I wanted to use them both to show it's size. Sometimes it takes more than one try...

I have no clue what they are looking at.
Streeeeeeeeeeeeetch!

Opposite directions. They are so talented.
Landry always trys to run away.
Good Boys!

Monday.

Saturday was one of my best friend's birthdays. I decided that the perfect gift is one that I make with my own two hands.

Gage is still growing! About a week ago he weighed 32 lbs.!!

And he loves Landry!

I have been thinking of going back to school for Interior Design. It's been something I have always loved and actually my first thought when it came to my future career. Hopefully something will work out!

Is it cold where you are??? It's April 14th and 40 degrees. Yuck.

Counting Down...

Birthdays always make me happy. I like for this to be the one day out of the entire year that everything is about me...well most everything. I keep wondering how many more years I will get away with this, but I'm hoping for many more. Thank you to all of you who make my birthday special every year and let me get away with it. I'm looking forward to this year for many reasons:

1. New Dishwasher!
2. Dinner with the family
3. Dinner with Honey
4. Girl's Night
5. PRESENTS!
6. MONEY!
7. Being off from work :)
8. Surprises
9. Being around the ones I love
10. Feeling Special

~3 Days until 24~

In the meantime, try and relax...17 weeks

Look What We Did!

Spring Time is in the Hair... I mean Air...

Doesn't this remind you of something from the movie Aliens?

Oh wait that's just Gage's teeth. He finally started losing those puppy teeth.

Long Time No Blog

Our baby is 14 weeks today and weighs 19 pounds! A big change from just a few weeks ago. When I look at pictures from when we first got him, I can see how he is maturing in his face.

He has been testing authority a lot more lately and it's becoming quite frustrating. He is a smart puppy though. He knows Sit, Come, No, Down, and Drop It (speaking of a toy/bone). He is really good at fetch too! Landry still doesn't know this one :( He be really excited when you throw the toy, run over to where it landed and sniff it and then run back excitedly. But Gage gets it.

I started working on my vest on Monday night. I tell ya, I'm getting good :) I got the shell done, but didn't have any fabric to do the lining. I need to get some before I can finish. But what I finished went by very quickly.

The front of the vest is on the left; a closeup of the detail on the right, and the back below. It looks really good, and will look even better when it's finished!

Project #2 and Updates

I have discovered that I HATE cutting out patterns. I have also figured out why the patterns at Wal-Mart are $4. They are so thin! It takes lots of skill to cut one out without tearing it. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad they are on the cheaper side because of my tight budget.

Tuesday night, I got the sewing machine setup and cut out the pattern for project #2.

I couldn't wait to get home yesterday and start working on it! Sewing is the fun part, after all.

One very important "skill" that my g-mother taught me was the importance of basting. I have learned very quickly how right she was. And last night, I took her advice...
It really helps when you have to take stitching out.

Even though I had a few mistakes along the way,
I think overall I did a pretty good job. I have to remind myself that this is only the second thing I have ever sewn and the first thing I have done on my own. I didn't finish it completely, but I only have one sleeve and the bottom hem left! I might even wear it tomorrow!

I really like my sewing machine. It is easy to use and is quiet. I worked on my shirt all evening and the time flew by. I can see how this is going to get addicting. There is a great deal of pride though when you finish something.

In other news...

Honey bought the Mach I Mustang. I love it! I even talked him into letting me take it for a spin last weekend.

Gage is getting so big! He is 11 weeks today. At his 6 week checkup he weighed 5.9lbs; at 9 weeks he was up to 11.1lbs! He is just barely taller than Landry, but much stronger. I still hear Landry laying down the law though. I guess his seniority is what's keeping him out of harms way. Gage is slowing understanding the proper place to use the bathroom, but still has some accidents. Last night was the first FULL night he has slept in the big bed without waking me up to go outside. He is becoming more and more cuddly the older he gets. We have also noticed his fur is getting a brown cast to it. He is going to be a pretty pup.

I decided (since I don't have anything else to do ;) ) to change my layout every month. Gives you something to look forward to! Let me know what you think and let me hear from you!

Weekend Workload=Light

Finally. A weekend off. I'm proud to say it was pretty uneventful. Friday night, I went to see my favorite brother & sister-in-law. The dogs are starting to figure each other out. However, Jere still doesn't know what to think of Gage. ..

**photos can be found here.

But come on Jere, he lets you wear his clothes!

Saturday, after sleeping in, honey & me went car shopping. See, he has had this life long dream of having a Cobra Mustang. Even though this will cause much worry on my part, sometimes you just gotta give in. These particular mustangs are hard to find, so we called around before heading to the city. We found a Mach I Mustang pretty close by so we went to check it out.

IT WAS FAST! I even made him warn me before he "tested" its power. I loved it though! It was pretty cool to feel the pull of all the horsepower. I'm definitely a car girl. He is thinking about getting this car and hopefully will get a good deal being January and the end of the month.

After this adventure, I talked him into stopping at H H Gregg to take a look at their tvs. (Apparently I was in the buying mood) However, he is the one who would be buying the tv and has mentioned buying one every day for about 2 months now. We found an AWESOME deal on a 42" plasma flat screen 720p tv. I was in love. So we got it.

Saturday night, I met up with some friends and enjoyed a couple of hours of line dancing.

Sunday, I had Sewing Lesson #2 and completed my first sewing project.

A pair of lounge pants in a lime green t-shirt material. I'm proud of my accomplishment! If you want a pair just click the comment button and let me know :)

first sewing project

pants tag

I created this "tag" so I could tell the front from the back. I think I might use it as my signature tag from now on because I'm growing pretty fond of it. Next is a shirt, then a dress!

What do you think??

Shirt to the left of the tank top.

First Dress.

Now begins another week. Oh and feel better honey!
