Memorial Day

For Memorial Day, I took a trip to Asheville, NC to Biltmore Estates.

If you have never been, I highly recommend it. It is very interesting and educational, especially if you get the audio tour. The gardens were beautiful and the paths were peaceful.

On the way back, instead of the regular ol' interstate we took Blueridge Parkway. Yesterday was an excellent day to do so and I wasn't disappointed with the breathtaking views. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did...

Looks like the rain didn’t hit that part of the North Carolina/eastern Tennessee area. My wife and I stayed home trying to catch up with the postponed NASCAR Coca-Cola 600. Unfortunately, it was an anti-climactic ending. The drivers didn’t get to finish the complete 600 miles.

Last year for our first wedding anniversary we traveled part of the Blueridge Parkway and the Smoky Mountains, http://n-tono-a-sunshine.typepad.com/photos/smokymountain1stweddingan/index.html. I really needed the additional color, if you know what I mean.

It was beautiful yesterday! I guess you know that I live in Knoxville, right? Not to far from the Smokies! :)
