Finished, Complete, Done, Terminado!!

I can't believe it myself, well yes, yes I can, BUT we have finally finished the path!
There are no definite plans for the right side of the path and what it should lead to. Right now it just kinda stops. I have thought about some sort of water feature, like a pond or fountain, but there isn't any outdoor power so it would have to be solar. If you have any ideas, shoot them my way.
My dad also planted some grass up around the rock steps. I hope it grows, but if not there's always next year.

It is going to be gorgeous back there in the spring. I can't wait!

Happy Birthday, Dad!
My dad's real birthday was on the 3rd, and we celebrated...
Little did he know though, the real party was the next night at my aunt's house...
Angela & I arrived a few hours early to set everything up with my aunt.
This was the biggest mishap of the night...Thank goodness!

It was a great night and everyone enjoyed themselves. I think dad is still in shock from us finally pulling one over on him.

He was definitely ready for the game Saturday with his new Lane Kiffin t-shirt.

Seriously?!
You will never guess what happened. You know, 'The Path'? Well just when we thought we were almost TOTALLY done with our year long project, this happened...
Do you see the part over to the right where new digging has been done? That's because we discovered more path. Yeah, that's right...I said MORE path. I still haven't figured out if Dad was just trying to pull one over on me or not, lol, but regardless...there it is. I find it a little humorous, but at the same time I'm not surprised. My yard is mysterious. But the more character the better, I say.
Since this big pile of dirt (that we started over a year ago when the digging first began)
had to be moved before we could uncover this part of the path, we haven't made too much progress. However, I'm happy to report that all 3 flower beds are done...and it looks FABULOUS!
My brother (the really really really good photographer in the family) promised to take new shots of the yard once it's complete. My hope is fading that that will happen anytime soon, but in the meantime I will enjoy all the new blooms and share them with you as well!
Happy Memorial Day!

Happy 3rd Anniversary!

Let's reminisce...
College graduation is a little different than high school. Besides the obvious things, working a lot harder to get there, costing more money, getting a bigger diploma, etc., this is when you finally enter the real world.
I'll never forget about March of 2006 it really started to hit me. I started applying for 'real jobs', preparing for graduation, finishing up classes, and FREAKING out! I couldn't believe that I had been in school since I was 5 years old and I was going to be done. Done. DONE! Yes, this is very exciting, but also very scary. So, like most 'I'm fixing to be a college graduate' do, I decided I would stay and get my Masters. Why not? It would be more beneficial to me and more importantly I didn't have to join the real world yet, right? Well, I thought so, but my father was on a different page. Though short, I will never forget that conversation.
"Dad, I have been thinking that I'm going to stay in school and get my Masters." In my head I'm thinking he is going to be so proud and happy that I want to work hard and further my education.
His response was a little different than I had planned..."Great...I'll NEVER retire!"
I was extremely lucky that my parents were able to pay for my college. So his response isn't a bad one. I can see that now. ha ha. I didn't stay to get my Masters and I turned out okay. It might be something to plan for in the future, but that will have to come out of my pockets. Oh, and by the way he is retired now, so rest easy.
May 12, 2006 was an awesome day!
Me, my dad, and step mom.

After graduation, friends and family gathered at the house for a tropical celebration. Tropical because I left for Jamaica the next day for a nice get away!

Me and my (then) soon to be sister-in-law...

My brother and I.

Mary & Tracy.

Happy as all get out! I have no clue why! ;o)

I was missing mother's day that Sunday, so we celebrated a few days early. This is My mom, me, and my step dad.

Happy Birthday, Dad!
Then we got side tracked playing with Chance. He loved the ribbon off Dad's present.
And as an extra present for my Dad, I'm finally going to post the video of a Zepplin cover band with an orchestra I watched from my Mom's balcony in Baltimore. It's only a month late! Oh and just some advice...don't actually watch the video, just listen. My camera skills weren't the greatest on this one. ;)

I Can Always Count on You, Dad.
MOVING IN

FINITO!
Thanks for finishing up the porch for me. It means a lot when you take time out of your day to do things for me. I will always appreciate it.
I love you,

Finally Friday
You know those weeks...the ones that on Monday you say to yourself, "Is it Friday yet?" Even though this week wouldn't even make the "bad" list, I'm so glad it's finally Friday!
Spring is here and always brings with it a sense of joy. Thank goodness because it's definitely needed right now.
As I was walking up the steps to my front door the other day, I noticed something new in my flower bed. Back in the Fall, my g-mother, g-father, dad, and step-mom came over to spruce up the yard. I remember my g-mother finding a bulb and planting it, but had forgotten until I saw this a few days ago...
It helped me remember to slow down and notice the pretty things in life. You never know how long you have left, and I don't want to regret. I love you all and hope you have a wonderful Easter Weekend!

6 days until my 24th!
P.S. anyone know what kind of flower this is?

Thanks Mom & Dad!
I know I don't say it enough, but I appreciate all you do for me. Their latest good deed:

now I can really dig down deep into sewing! I plan on stocking up on some supplies tonight and getting started on my next project.
